Throwback Thursday: Cajmere – Perculator [1992]

This track never gets old. Guaranteed to tear a dancefloor up, especially if pitched up a bit.

Track of the Month! Traumprinz – Hey Baby

This man is seriously unstoppable. The vocals on this track are killer – wish the discogs prices weren’t so insane!

Mix of the Week: RA.387 Traumprinz

It seems the mysterious Prince of Denmark is on fire lately! After listening to his Smoke Machine podcast (featured below) non-stop this entire week, I’ve got a new one to keep me busy. Traumprinz is an alias of Prince of Denmark, and this RA podcast features largely unreleased material of his. This guy is a master building ambiance, and seems to be quite the interesting character. His idea behind the mix, via RA:

I like the idea of sehnsuchtsorte, a desirable place that only exists in our fantasy. It’s a way to keep away the sometimes unpleasant side of reality and to empower creativity, emotion, irrational behaviour and imperfection—features that sometimes get little bit mistreated in these times that we live in, I think.

Listen and download here. A mix not to be missed.

Another Mix of the Week: Prince of Denmark – Smoke Machine Podcast 090

Smoke Machine and Giegling are really on point lately. If you liked Vril’s mix, then this one should get you as well. Haunting and energetic, just in time for your halloween partying.

Current Focus: PVS

PVS is Marco Piovesan’s current techno project based out of Rome. Since his first release under PVS on Sonntag Morgen just under a year ago, he has been consistently producing on techno heavy hitter labels Gynoid Audio, Consumer Recreation Service Recordings, and Sonntag Morgen. This is big room techno at its finest. You probably heard his track “Fuckin’ Society” as the opener to Marcel Dettmann’s and Ryan Elliott’s B2B Boiler Room Berlin set.

PVS – Fuckin’ Society
PVS – Tone 1
PVS – The Dark Shadow of Me (Annulled User Ending Edit)

Mix of the Week: Vril – Smoke Machine Podcast 089

Vril is the latest artist to contribute to Smoke Machine’s podcast series. Over an hour of dub techno perfection. Good stuff.
